OK, well I applied for this Micron scholarship. It asked for activities, ECs, and awards. I did NOT put WHo's Who or the National Honor Roll crap on the application because both of those "awards" are useless ways of getting money from dumb kids.
Well, I was looking at the profiles of Micron's past scholarship winners. For one of the profiles, they say that the guy was in Who's Who. Does that mean I should have put it on the app after all? I was nominated two years in a row...

It's hard to guess how people will react, Quarky. People who work in college admissions are more likely to recognize the scam nature of Who's Who and National Honor Roll than people in industry. I don't think it's a big deal one way or the other. Good luck with the scholarship!

I think I would put in Who's Who, but leave out national honor role, becuase I see Who's WHo in quite of few profiles of scholarship winners.

I would leave in Who's Who because I see that on quite of few scholarship winner profiles in general. But take out National Honor Roll because its generally seen as a scam.

Greetings all: National Honor Roll is a vanity press. You send them money; they print junk in their "commemorative yearbook." Doesn't mean a thing. Please see my posting at http://www.collegeconfidential.com/cgi-bin/discus/show.cgi?6/35760 Hope this helps.
