Hi,
I'm really looking forward to going to Rutgers next year to major in Pharmacy, but I need some help. I've taken practice SATs and the highest score I got was a 980 (Pathetic, I know... ). My highest math score was a 510, and my highest verbal score was a 500. My GPA is 88.00 so far, but that does not include any grades from my Junior year (With the grades I have for my Junior Year, I know I can bump up my average to a 90.00 or more). I haven't taken calculus yet (I will next year... hopefully), but I have already taken Earth Science, Biology, Chemistry, and A.P. Biology. I have a lot of things to put for my extracurricular activities, and I know a lot of teachers could put in very good recommendations for me.
But I still feel hopeless...
What do you people think I should do / improve upon to increase my chances of getting into Rutgers Pharmacy school? Any help would be GREAT!
Thanks in advance!

it seems that sat is your major problem. does your school offer sat prep classes? i know several people who've gone to the ones at my school. they were taught by teachers and very cheap, and apparently helpful. also, buy a sat book that offers tips on improvement, like the princeton review. what kind of practice tests are you taking, anyways? make sure to get actual tests. essays are important for all colleges who require them, so be sure to write some great ones next year. other than that, all i can say is good luck!

Thanks Chardonnay, I guess I should have told a little more info.
I am taking SAT Prep. classes at the Princeton review, but they just aren't helping me. The pace they are going is just too slow for me to really improve. I know I have to improve my SAT scores ... but what scores is Rutgers looking for? I heard from a friend that Rutgers highly emphasizes on the Math score.
Anyone else have any other feedback?

do u live in nj? if so, from my friends' acceptances and mine, they base a lot of the admissions process on SATs (they also base a lot of scholarship eligibility on that too). rutgers' pharmacy program is a pretty tough one to get into, so try boosting ur GPA (its great already! but try 2 make it even better). i took princeton review too, and it helped me go from an 1180 to a 1370. tell them that its going too slow and im sure they would gladly move u to a faster class (with an 1180, they put me in the highest level class, so that helped me tremendously). rutgers college SAT scores generally run from 540V, 560M to 640V, 670M, but for rutgers pharmacy it may be a tad bit higher. hope this helps! good luck =)

The problem with the Princeton Review is that the classes end in 2 weeks... So I think I'll be better off taking advantage of what I can and just spend most of my time studying a lot, especially over the summer. Thanks for all your help!
