Hi. I am applying to the Yale Summer Program. Is it anywhere near as competitive as admission to Yale? I earned an A+ in a Calculus I semester course at an accredited college but not so prestigious college and near perfect grades (3.97/4.0)- what are my chances if I'm just looking to take one calc (the 2nd semester) class there? They say admission to the summer program is still competitive, and I've heard of some with good records who were rejected.
My HS grades and SATs were not all that great, but it will not matter because they are not submitted - current college students only need to submit their current transcript (near perfect), a one paragraph statement, the app and the fee.

Summer programs at top 25 universities rarely are as competitive as the actual school. Whether they are selective or not it's best to turn it in early so you can reserve a seat.. maybe that's how those good records got rejected.
