Here's what I say about HYP
Everyone has a shot there, and no one has a shot there.
You can't really predict who will be accepted to these schools, however your verbal score may hurt you.

I would guess no.

Your SAT I and SAT IIs are very low for a white kid applying to Yale.
The tennis championship might help you. But items like the highest grade in the class on the course final are blah-blah-blah.
The interview might be a boost.
You would probably do yourself a favor to fall in love with a couple of safety schools.

Are you guys high? A 1420 is a very good SAT score

I see you guys seem to feel the same way about my chances at Yale. Cornell is my second choice. Are my chances better there?
| By Mkappus (Mkappus) on Sunday, March 14, 2004 - 08:49 pm: Edit |
I got accepted to Harvard with a 1420 so I think your chances are fine. A lot depends on your essay, what did you write about?
| By Jab23rox (Jab23rox) on Sunday, March 14, 2004 - 09:04 pm: Edit |
Thank You Mkappus. My essay was based on the following quote:
Albert Einstein was quoted as saying “A hundred times every day I remind myself that my inner and outer life are based on the labors of other men, living and dead, and that I must exert myself in order to give in the same measure as I have received and am still receiving.”
I explained how I appreciate the value in Interdependency.

sounds kind of complicated but I'm sure it was well written and the admissions staff will be impressed. As far as Cornell goes. Your chances are 99.9% of getting in. Great stats.

wow, 99%, i must have done something right...lol

Arts and sciences

CAS accepts about 28% of it's applicants, which is more then yale, but still seriously competitive.
also, i beleive that CAS already sent out Likely Letters, so jab, if he was 99.9% in, he would know by now. i hate it when ppl knock cornell. best of luck w/ both.
