Well you see my school has completely seald and signed my transcript. But the problem is I found out now that they have sent the wrong one. It has way better grades and my admissions decisions are due next week. Should i keep those transcripts. They have my name and everything but my grades are wrong. Will the college contact each and every high school like umich to know whether they have recieved the correct info or not. I'm in india btw.
Help somebody.

So what do you think you should do? You now know that the college has material information that is false. Suppose someone had a painting that both you and he believed was a valid original by a well-known artist worth $10,000. You agree to buy it from him. A day before the transaction is to close the seller learns the painting is not by that artist and is really only worth a few hundred dollars. He meets you the next day and you are about to hand him a $10,000 check for the painting. Do you think he should tell you what he has learned even though he knows you won't check to verify?

so the colleges won't verify?

This is really a decision of ethics. Either you are moral enough of a human being to notify the college or you are not. But remember, it all comes back to you in the end.

Another person might have your grades :/ I'd be all for it to send out better grades, but if I were responsible for another person not getting into the college of his/her dreams--well, I'd never want that to happen. Talk to your guidance/college counselor.

I'm hoping that the same thing will happen for me when my school sends out my stuff. This is a godsend. Just keep your mouth shut.

toxicity i love that! hahah.. i was laughing for like a full minute after i read your post. Lol... too funny somehow the misspelling of divine made it perfect, lol. anyway. it really does come down to what kind of person you are. No, they will probably never find out, and if they do, its on the school and not you. however, what kind of person are you? You know about this. If you are moral, you will tell them. If you are not, then hey, you got lucky.

which college are you applying to Rohit?
| By Becks777 (Becks777) on Sunday, March 07, 2004 - 09:04 pm: Edit |
every college asks for a final transcript before fall. what if your school sends the right one this time? you will be screwed. According to me- you should play it safe. From what i know u have good enough stats to get into Mich. so why take the risk?

I say go with it. They screw up let them deal with it. Only contact the schools that are your safeties and where you make a good fit with your current grades. Let the schools at which you're barely or hardly in (with your real grades) have the fake transcript.
