Any particular reasons???

If you go to Harvard, you can register for classes at MIT.

By Cnn (Cnn) on Thursday, March 04, 2004 - 10:23 am: Edit

yeah MIT is better! it kicks major ass :)

By Gianscolere (Gianscolere) on Thursday, March 04, 2004 - 10:40 am: Edit

the poster is simply asking you to make the comparison between only harvard and yale, excluding MIT and Caltech. i can't respond because i have little basis for judgment, but the above poster is right- harvard does let its kids take classes at MIT, and MIT is well-known for engineering.

i know MIT, CIT, Stanford , pton rock!!

ok one more (u guessed right i need a safety)

1) Illinois Institute of Technology

Cornell is the best engineering of the Ivy's, which is apparently what you want...

By Cooldude (Cooldude) on Friday, March 05, 2004 - 01:17 am: Edit

thanx Gabushida,
but i want to go to a college which has EECS as an option
and very few colleges offer that

could you guys comment on my college list:
Reaches:
MIT
CIT
Stanford
Princeton

match/safety:
Boston University
IIT
Virginia Tech

intended major: EECS if possible/ECE/Mech. Eng
International student, needing fin aid

i will apply to 10 colleges, so could u guys suggest 3 more. esp. good matches/reach

EECS?
Electrical Engineering and Computer Science?

You might want to try Lehigh - GREAT Engineering. Also really liked Tufts.
And I still stand my Cornell, as I am going there for Comp. Engineering next fall :b

By Cooldude (Cooldude) on Friday, March 05, 2004 - 11:50 am: Edit

but none of these colleges have good fin aid for int. or scholarships

sorry for the double post

and correction:
these colleges have limited Financial Aid,
but i think i'll apply (they are damn good)

thanx Gabushida

Tufts has great financial aid for those who have very little money, but limited financial aid for those whose parents are upper-middle class.

Send me an email if you have questions about the Tufts engineering.

BU gives nice merit aid... also six merit scholarships every year, full tuition, to engineers.

Don't go to Harvard for engineering; they send most of their students to MIT to take classes there. The ranking of H engin. is solely based on the reputation of the university, not on any merits of the programme.

Good luck! :)

illinois institute of tech always offers scholarships, and they will not leave you alone once you contact them because they are desparate.

As for engineering colleges, I would choose a school like UIUC, Virginia, Boston for undergraduate. Graduate, MIT or Princeton maybe.

thanx guys,

but the boston U undergrad engg. is famous for its bio related engg. from what i heard it isnt that good for CS or EE and they have no combined program

but it has awesome scholarships so i'll try BU anyways

UIUC and VT are around 30k a year and i can't afford that, and they dont have fin aid for intl.

I think i'll apply to tufts instead VT/UIUC

any comments on tufts
