Hi, can you please tell me whether my EC is sufficient for Cal, UCSD, or UCLA. BTW take in account that I'm going to be an engineering major. My SAT scores average at 750 each and my GPA is 4.0/4.6. I am a California resident. Don't worry, the list is short. :)

-7 years of violin, with 5 years of orchestra
-16 community college classes all with UC transferrable credits (equates to 64 credits or a year of college)
-300 hours of community service
-2 years of NHS and CSF

Hmm you've definitely focused on certain things so that is a good. Why kind of classes have you taken? Where do you do community service?

I have 3 years in one club. Summer school and one summer as a lab assistant at UCSF. I'd feel very comfortable with my chances if I had your stats. Don't worry, the vast majority of the people applying to UC's and accepted to UC's have far less EC's than you do.

Collegeconfidential is not an accurate representation of a normal applicant pool

all my community college classes were in the computer science department. i did community service only in a local animal shelter (yeah i know, pretty random).

violin: unless you got an award or are concertmaster for your school, no. comm college: no. volunteering: yes. club: no, unless by club you mean sport. NSF and CSF: hah, no.
