UC's will be hard if you are out of state.. nyu and boston college would be considered reaches as well..
your in fairly well standing for BU and i would say you won't have any problems with american and babson, so long as you can express a serious interest in business to the latter
if you can bump your sat up like 100points it would help..

The UCs are getting terribly hard, having to send some of their own in-staters to community college for a few years (top kids too). The next few years, what with budget crisis stuff and all.

I think you're a good candidate for BU and I'd consider it a match. BC is a reach, but not too lofty a goal. The UCs can be tough, but why go there? Go to your own state school and save $$.

hey, i'm going to BU this fall and I think you have a very good chance there. Also, American and Babson are good safeties for you. Boston College and NYU are slight reaches, but if you get your SAT score up, you will be in good shape. Feel free to e-mail me with any questions! Good luck =)

Holy Cross and Colgate are 2 very good schools with Division 1 hockey programs. They are stronger in academics and alumni networks than a Boston College or Babson.

Ahh! Rejected at UCSD, waitlisted at WashU, now I'm really nervous for Boston University, so for some final assurance could someone please give me a good estimate of my chances?
GPA: 3.8 uw 4.05 w (top 11%uw, top 5% w)
ACT: 30
SAT II: 510 writing, 610 math IIC, 620 bio (these are pretty low, but I didn’t know what I was doing when I took them and I didn’t have time to take them again)
I’m a female, from Iowa, applying for the college of engineering as a Biomedical engineering major.
I work as a lifeguard during the summer, and I also teach swim lessons.
I’m pretty sure both my counselor and teacher recommendations were very good, they both seemed excited to write them.
Extracurricular activities: I have been swimming for a long time I was on the varsity team – during the season I spend 20 or more hours a week swimming so I’m pretty involved. I also do a lot of speech and drama stuff, I was on the all-state speech team. I’ve done a lot of stuff with French, and the French club (fundraising, organizational stuff) I went on an exchange trip to France last year. I did model UN one year, we were Iraq, that was interesting. I do a lot of things with my church and youth group. I also volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters.
As far as classes go, I’ve taken probably the hardest course load that you can at my school, I will have 10 AP’s by the time I graduate. I’m an AP scholar, so far I’ve gotten 4’s on European History, US History, Economics, and Psychology.
If people could give my a good assessment of what to expect that would be great, I really want to get out of Iowa and Boston would just be so cool.
