A black kid from my high school got into 5:
Harvard, Yale, Dartmouth, Columbia and Cornell.

1120 SAT
600 SAT II average
average ECs

His grades were pretty good though. He finished 11 out of 225 with a 3.8 unweighted GPA.

Did he deserve to get in? No way. But he was black so I guess being black makes him deserving.

By dxiw on Tuesday, January 21, 2003 - 07:09 pm: Edit

he must have had something that they liked, sports or music or something

By cracka on Tuesday, January 21, 2003 - 07:15 pm: Edit

They liked that he was black.

Wow, my stats are better than his and I'm black, yet somehow I doubt I'm going to get into most of the ivies I applied to (cornell, princeton, yale, and columbia).

Don't kid yourself. You'll get in. You're black.

By AA on Tuesday, January 21, 2003 - 08:16 pm: Edit
