Chinese Male
GPA: 4.64 W, 4.0 UW
Class rank: 3/373
SAT I: 1480 (750 M), (730 V)
SAT II's: 710 Math IIC, 750 Writing, 700 Chemistry
AP's: Mostly 4's and 5's except for a 3 on Spanish IV AP.
EC's: Varsity Soccer 4 years, Tennis two years 10,11, clubs include: FBLA, Chess club, Math club, Science club, National Honor Society, ASB, etc. Other things about me include: Stanford Summer School, Volunteered over 150 hours of community service since high school started, fluent Mandarin and Cantonese speaker. So what are my chances at Stanford? I know it's very competitive but it's always been my dream school since I was a little kid.

Stanford is seriously being a bitch this year...people with higher stats + more extracurriculars have been rejected...

My friend was recruited by Stanford for tennis (rejected offer, accepted harvard)...and he told me the coach told him this: the admissions committee HAS accepted people based on ONLY their essays so the emphasis is clearly on your responses.

So...I hope you wrote good essays :OD and they really stress extracurricular (leadership) roles too...

your SAT and GPA are fine for stanford...

good luck, i keep telling ppl that a lotta ppl with higher stats have been getting rejected. stanford has been known for its weird admissions; many ppl who seem to be less qualified get in all the time. basically, all the ivies and elite private universities are crapshoots to get into, so go for it. If you don't get in, there are many other great schools, and ya know, it's their loss. :)
