i am a junior.
SAT I (verbal: 750, math: 790)
this was as a freshman, do they count freshman year scores? plus, do they care how many SATs i take cuz i took over 3.... i took the one in january (reasonable chance of a 1600 i think, i consistently score over 1500, this one i felt i did better than the others)
SATII
math 2c: 800
writing: 800
physics: 800
chemistry: 800
do they care how many sat 2s u take? i am thinking about taking bio and us history, but do they only allow u to put down 3 scores?
APs
European History: 5
Physics b: 5
Chemistry: 5
Biology (in progress)
Calculus BC (in progress)
US History (in progress)
Computer Science AB (in progress)
English Language (only offered to seniors at my school, so i'm self-studying for this one, going to take english lit next year)
DO colleges even look at AP scores?
I am on my school web staff, going to be technology editor next year
placed 10th in the southern california section of the american chemical society olympiad.
scored perfect on the national latin exam for levels 1 and 2.
i program in C++, Java
html, coldfusion, javascript (web based)
currently doing a science project (very basic though, first one)
GPA unweighted 4.0
GPA weighted 4.9 (thats at my school, honors/ap = 5)
cross country/track: frosh/soph and JV, maybe varsity later (doubt it)
what are my chances?? taking maybe 5-6 more APs as a senior. ALSO: i am applying for RSI, the MIT application doesnt ask for the programming languages I know, but the RSI one does. What are my chances of getting into that? I heard it's really competitive. I also have random worthless stuff like national honor society, etc.

also i intern at an IT consulting firm (about 200 hours there) where i write some programs for them in coldfusion
i have about 150 hours of volunteer besides the internship (including school tutoring, etc)
will have taken around 13-14 APs by senior year.

what do you want to do there? (as in the field of study)

www.cee.org is the website, the application has to be postmarked by Feb 1 so its kind of too late, you need an official transcript plus principals signature and 2 teacher recs. i dont see how u can get that in in time but u can try, u also need to answer a series of questions.
chemistry or computers, subfield is a bit iffy

you sound great for MIT--like a guy I know who got in last year, but more qualified. It helps, though, if you're a girl (I'm not kidding). Good luck, but I don't think you'll need it.

i applied...but my AP score might look bad...not all 5s =/
i heard if you didnt do a "WOW" project before its hard to get in. =/
and how are you more qualified if you're a girl...

Because of the male/female ratio, MIT is anxious to attract young women. I've read this in several articles, and I have seen it happen at my high school. Of course, this is anecdotal evidence, but it is not just my opinion.

yes. thats true. too bad i am a guy. i know girls who get in w/ a lot less qualifications. otherwise the male:female ratio would not be 54:46 like it is.
i am only a junior, hopefully i will have more stuff by next year this time.
also, i looked at the MIT apps, they only have 3 spaces for SAT 2s, can i put down more?
AND, on their application it says, AP course (blank) score (blank), what if I take an AP exam w/out taking a course?????

so how much does ap scores factor in the rsi apps

and i know some girls who are pretty good. you shouldn't underestimate them...

u am not underestimating girls. there are some really smart girls, but girls are usually better in other things besides academics.
and i dont think APs have really any effect on RSI apps. they dont even expect you to have taken the SATs, only the PSAT. most applicants are juniors, like I am.
