Hah, looks like everyone else is doing it, might as well join in....
Well, I got deferred by Princeton early decision, so im just curious at my NYU chances.
~From Boise Idaho
~SAT - 1210 (obviously what is going to hinder me, im hoping to balance it with everything else)
~GPA - 3.9
~3 AP's taken my junior year, 6 this year
~Varsity debate president, TOC bid, speaker of the year award, 61-12 record.
~Numerous academic awards, though nothing huge
~Head chairman for gala fundraiser event that raised over $65,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters
~Great essays and recs
~Attended Boys State, some local leadership academy, and UTNIF debate camp
~Various club participation
~National Honors Society
~Varsity Cross country and Track participation
I know this can't tell much on my chances with NYU, but i'd love to hear some feedback, or share essays. Thanks!
Andrew

It's probably a reach seeing as how your SATs are a little lower than their range, but like you said, other things will balance it out. Plus, NYU gets too New York students' applications (I'm one of them). Also, I noticed you were deferred not rejected from Princeton ED, which means you may have something more than you're letting on.
