I am a junior right now..just wanted to know what my chances were and how to improve

PSAT: 70 V, 67 M, 77 W, I guess commended

GPA: 4.00 UW
Rank: 1/730

all honors/APs

AP this year: US History, Calc AB, Physics
took AP comp sci A last year and got a 4

SAT I: 1390, going to retake
still have to take SAT 2s

EC:

prez of the IB club for 2 years, not in IB anymore
publicity for NHS
publicity for UNICEF
facilitator for Project 540
CSF

volunteer at the hospital 200+ hours

Awards: top 10 for 9th and 10th grades so far, Dean's list for math, others I can't think of right now

got scholarship for SAT 9 scores for 9th grade, still waiting for 10 grade's

what are my chances for Pomona, Columbia, NYU-Stern, UCLA, UC Berkeley

i am from Cali

Hey Rayo im in the same situation as you, I am a junior and looking to see if anyone can help me out. The following is my specs as of now and I would greatly appreciate any input:
PSAT:72M,58V,58V
SAT I:740M,650V=>1390 comb
Courses:
AP Chem
PreAP calc
the rest all honors
GPA:3.5 uw, 3.9 weighted
our school has no rank, NJ

Sports:
-2 year Varsity Tennis, will continue playing all four years
-3 year Marching Band

EC:
-JSA member (debate club)
-Technology Studen Association member
-All years top concert music group, all years Jazz Band. (these are not including marching band)
-200+ volunteering hours at Princeton Medical Center
-plan to go to India and do volunteer work
-plan to take SAT I again and 3 SAT IIs
Awards-won an essay contest
Just wondering what my numbers in the remaining SATs should look like and if a 4 on AP chem is good enough for:
Reach: Cornell, Carnegie Mellon, Columbia Fu College
Middle:Michigan ann arbor, WashU, Georgia Tech
Safety: Rutgers, Missouri Rolla, Clemson,
Plz post any information that can help me to set attainable goals.

Well, if you got a 4 on the AP Chem, and you take one of the SATII Math tests, you should be in pretty good shape. I took the AP Chem test last spring and only managed a 3, I found it to be more math than actual chemistry concepts, but that's beside the point. Rutgers should be a good safety school for you, I can't give you any opinion on the rest. The important thing to focus on is applying on a range of schools, which you seem to have a good start on.

It's a gimme for NYU, UCLA, and UCB. Columbia will be a reach, however, if you can get that SAT score to break 1500, you have really good chances.
