I had already applied MIT early action, got defferred...I eventually called to talk to one of the admissions counselors about how to improve my app...she said that there was nothing specific they wanted to extra to see and that some people don't need to send in extra stuff--> i'm not sure if thats a good or bad thing...
recs have been good overall, my one interview went well with my MIT guy (well, at least i thought it did when he said i was a really strong candidate)....my essays though (at least I think) have been mediocre to good(although different)...
any ideas on where I'll get into?
sorry to make you read for so long..i'm just so anxious ..........

send in the new score report! 750 on m2c will look soooooooo much better than a 690! Forget the writing score... you've already proven you have what it takes to get a 690 on writing... but the 750 m2c is essential! (it will put you in the typical score range at MIT)

What the hell are "IB Information technology in
Global Society, IB Theory of Knowledge" ?!!! What the hell kind of high school classes are those? I don't even know what "Theory of Knowledge" means! Is that like philosophy?
By ns on Monday, January 06, 2003 - 08:27 am: Edit
lol....yea IB theory of knowledge is a philosophy class (although its more of an application of philosophical theory more than a history) and IB Information Technology in Global Society is a class devoted to computers and their sociological implications in the world...eh, yes, it is quite an easy class because we basically just talk about the ethics behind doing things on the computer and learn a few basic things about the computer

By AFDS on Monday, January 06, 2003 - 03:58 pm: Edit
Uh, is the AP research thing a lie? Sounds like one...! Please elaborate
By ns on Monday, January 06, 2003 - 06:41 pm: Edit
ap research isn't a lie...a weighted study hall it is....
but, does ANYONE have an opinion on my actual chances of getting in anywhere?
By indiachik on Monday, January 06, 2003 - 06:52 pm: Edit
I think you have a chance at Michigan... I am not sure though because they are a lot harder on their out of state then instate

My study halls are basically sitting quietly and doing my homework or any other work I have to do. So is AP research a weighted version of this?
My study hall doesn't get GRADED more or less weighted! :p
