I would like to know what my chances are at Ivies and other highly selective schools. Please be brutally honest, my feelings won't be hurt.

Sat: 1600
Sat IIs: Writing 740 Physics 690 Math IIC 800 I think , results soon
UW GPA 3.8
W GPA 4.17
UW rank 36/336 (Most rigorous curriculum, Bs in foreign language and electives, pretty competitive public school)
W rank 22/336
Poor to average ECs
white male
immigrant

I got deferred from Columbia.
Applying to: Yale, Brown, Cornell, NYU, Vassar.

I don't think I'll get into any of the Ivies, and I have a decent shot at NYU and Vassar (if they are really need-blind).

I'm sorry for this pessimism, but after my deferral from Columbia, I'm really starting to doubt this whole college thing.

The poor ECs and the average essays are going to hurt you, especially with the top Ivies.
