I'm a HS senior in Northern California, SF Bay Area....but my sister went to Santa Barbara and absolutely loved it..she got in with like a 3.1 GPA and pretty horrid SAT scores. I've got like a 3.3 GPA and a 1250 SAT....but i've played four sports, 2 varsity and i've been in leadership for four years.......soph class president and class treasurer etc.

Hey you're from the bay area too! I was born and raised in frisco. Well anyway ya my stats are alright I have a 4.5 gpa and 1460 sat and satII's 700 avg. Well ya i want to go to UCSB. The campus is cool and it looks like i will get my education and have some fun. Well i hope you respond cya.

Does any one know more about UCSB

By Savedbythebell7 (Savedbythebell7) on Sunday, December 28, 2003 - 07:37 pm: Edit

Santa Barbara lowdown

Isla Vista = somewhat shady. Lots of parties. A bit grungy. Almost all the students live here.

New Dorms = right on the beach and are very nice.

State Street = AMAZING NIGHT LIFE. Always stuff to do. So many excellent resturants. There is a Bus that goes from Isla Vista to state street every night.

Santa Barbara Beaches = world class

UCSB = top 2 percent of all schools in the nation. Library has an amazing ocean view from the higher up levels.

Hey savedbythebell7 what is your weighted gpa. Are you taking any ap or honors classes??? Ya the new dorms are nice and it is a big plus that the beach is right there. Dont some of the dorms have an ocean view too??

By Caliplaya03 (Caliplaya03) on Sunday, December 28, 2003 - 07:54 pm: Edit

Savedbythebell7 you probably dont wanna stay in frisco it's too cold and foggy.

By Savedbythebell7 (Savedbythebell7) on Sunday, December 28, 2003 - 08:46 pm: Edit

yeah they do. 3.3 Unweighted at a very competitive public school in Lafayette, not frisco. We don't weight grades at my school. I know kids with 2.9 GPA's and 1400's on there SATs...so i think our grades are perhaps a bit deflated. But yeah its too cold and foggy here in Lafayette as well. I NEED a warmer climate.
