I think because I've written so many essays I'm going insane. I wrote this long essay for Princeton saying that I want to sail around the world and have a crew that tells stories and sings and dances, and I would make them all eat oranges so they didn't get scurvy.

Fruit (like oranges and limes w/vitamin C) rots in a few weeks. Didn't they eat sauerkraut? I'm not sure, but I have vague recollections of me denouncing sauerkraut and my mom telling me, "Well if you were a sailor you wouldn't say that."

They drank grog. Grog is 2 parts water, 1 part rum, and a good bit of lemon or lime to keep people from getting scurvy. The alcohol kept the fruit juice from going bad. It tastes awful.

yeah i learned that onion thing from a computer game- "super mario time machine" i would say it was from when i was little but i think the last time i played it was over the summer

my friend knew someone who had scurvy. it's so stupid though. you can eat like an orange once a month and you won't get scurvy, but this girl somehow got it.
