4 Great recs. 1 great essay and 1 pretty good (but not great)essay

For those of you familiar with Pomona's app, I'm sending in all 3 ec cards. Great science booklet from apprenticeship and great rec. Good ceramics portfolio.

I'm currently taking a year off. I graduated in June 2003. During my year I'm continuing with my sports, doing ceramics (selling pots and teaching at a few places), teaching science to k-8 kids, and taking art classes. I applied to Pomona last year and did not get in.

Any input you guys could give would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

girl wrestler, that is badass.

however, i hope you know how much pressure you put on the guys when you wrestle them -- 2 kids on our wrestling team, after they lost to girls, got ridiculed so much that they quit. i wrestled girls all the time in my weight class, and it was absolutely terrifying.

anyway, sorry to go off topic, but that seems to be unique and i bet you have a good chance

is it really hard to make it to girls' state for wrestling? i do wrestling, too, and i really suck... but i'd still like to pretend i'm good! =P

WWF doesnt count, bro

By Stonecold316 (Stonecold316) on Tuesday, December 23, 2003 - 05:24 am: Edit

well i think sis would be more appropriate cuz i'm not a guy... =P

and it's WWE! the world wildlife federation (i think that's what it's called) sued, so WWF had to change its name. damn pandas.

it wasn't hard to make girls state...but they don't know that

everyone gets to go...but winning and placing is up to you

I am a current freshman at Pomona right now, and I am surprised that you didn't get in last year. Perhaps your SAT math scores were a little too low?

What will you be changing from your last application? If it isn't much, I don't see them accepting you this time since they hadn't before, unless the applicant pool isn't as strong this year. Perhaps you could apply EDII, to show a strong interest in the school. If you haven't already, try to do an interview and the optional essay.

Good luck to you.

Last year I only had a 1290 SAT and a 3 for AP chemistry, the other SAT and AP scores are new
I think the low test scores last year really hurt me.

I think the applicant pool at Pomona is only going to get stronger. Two years ago they accepted 30%. Last year it was 20%.

Eeek!
