Alright guys. I applied to Yale, Columbia, Cornell, Johns Hopkins, William and Mary, University of Virginia, Duke, and Virginia Tech. Here are my stats:

math 800, verbal 750, writing 720, math IIc 800, us history 760, physics 680, biology 720, AP US history 5, AP lang 4

my weighted gpa is 3.85 (94-100 = A, only B was in German. I can only blame the evil teacher; fluent German speakers could barely get a B+ for crying out loud). I'm taking the hardest courses my school has to offer senior year (7 APs, 3 are sciences). I have some good extracurriculars, lots of community service. Decent recs, I think. Oh yeah, I'm Korean, and I came here about 9 years ago; I'm fluent in both Korean and English (isn't that amazing?), and I know a bit of German.

tell me what you think. ciao

hey
i'm fluentin both english and korean and i don't think bein' fluent in both korean and english is not that amazin
there is a lot of americanized koreans who can't speak korean and that's due to their idolness
and also i've seen a lot of koreans who say they r fluent in korean but when it comes to korean news programs or books or politics they have no idea!
so, how good is ur korean (just wanna know)
also i don't think u can say "decent recs" since u haven't read them or somethin but i still thinku have a good chance even though i'm not sure about ur essays

Wait a minute. You only had one B you're entire highschool career? That's should not bring your GPA to a 3.85. If you only have one B ever, you should have a 3.99...GPA. Anyway, it doesn't really matter that much. I'd say you have a good shot. But... Not to be negative, there are a lot of asian kids with stats that surpass yours academically. However, many of those asian kids have little or no ECs. So...Yea, I think you have a shot.

Yeah, I was being sarcastic when I said "isn't that amazing." I don't think it's that special. I think it's expected from someone who has lived there for 8 years. My Korean is pretty good since my parents have forced me to read Korean novels to keep me sharp, and I'm only allowed to speak Korean in front of them. I also read various Korean newspapers when I get a chance. Is it a good idea to take the Korean SAT IIs? You're right about the recs though. I'm just trying to convince myself so that maybe I can sleep better at night. I'm unsure about my essays too.

I should have explained why my gpa was so low. I took German for three years in high school, and I also had the same teacher. I ended up with three B's because of this class. One girl actually complained to her counselor about her grade, and they changed it to a B+ from a B or something. B was my lowest grade, but I also got a B+ once or twice.
