What do you think my chances of admission are at Cornell, Georgetown, Carnegie Mellon, NYU, and Tufts? I want to study business and economics.
SAT I 1310 (Math-720 Verbal-590)
SAT II Writing-650, MathIIC-680
4 on AP Calculus AB test in junior year
top 10% of class
Public magnet science high school (Similar to the Bronx School of Science and Stuyvestant in New York City)
Senior Year Courses
Single Variable Calculus (above AP level)
Advanced Biology (honors)
Editor of School newspaper
School concert band member
Volunteered for mentally challenged children
Worked at a camp last summer and had two jobs this summer.
Currently interning at one of the big 5 brokerage firms in the country.

I wouldn't count you out just yet. My friend got into Cornell with a 1320 and similar SATII scores as you. He was white, middle class, not a legacy, with average EC's. It's worth a shot, good luck

Thanks...I'm also applying to Lehigh, George Washington, and Boston U. I have solid recommendations from my junior year AP Calculus teacher and my economics teacher that I've had for two years, including AP classes this year. I also have a recommendation from my mentor at my internship.

Cornell06, what were your stats?
I want to study applied economics and management in the college of agriculture and life sciences.
I'm not from New York state...do you know if it is harder for out of state people since CALS is a state school? Does CALS have to accpet a certain amount of New Yorkers?
Any information would help.
