I really want to go to an ivy league or near ivy league. I live in a small town (lagrange NC) and my school wasnt that good. I'm a white boy but my dad's a truck driver so hes kinda rich. I even droppoed out for a year but now im back in school at another bigger school and im trying to get my grades up. By the way, im a junior. I got an 840 combined on sat 1 but i think i should retake. My GPA is a 2.3 but I think i can get it up to a 2.5 before the end of the year. Also, does aa help me if im white? thanks

Of course your not in (fairy god mother is smoking crack)! All your stats appear to be very low, and aa does not help you (only helps hispanics and whites). By the way, why do you want to go to an ivy league, there are plenty of less selective public colleges that would love to have you. Judging from your gpa, it does appear as though even if you got in, you would excell...

yaleadmissionsofficer, i tend to think that travis was joking. i certainly do not participate in the use of illegal substances. no. never. i just have a sense of humor. try not to be so literal. travis was providing those on the board with some levity.

and 2.3 does not mean you cannot handle the ivy league. i know individuals in high school who get (generally) "poor" grades, however, when provided the opportunity to take academics in areas that interest them excell. they could survive the ivy despite poor HS grades. harhar.

it's kinda depedent upon your overall rank though since 2.3 or 2.5 are REALLY horrible GPAs no offense, but if everyone around you have even lower GPAs it could be to your advantage
