How selective is admission for California freshmen applicants to the bioengineering program at UCSD? Does anyone know what the average scores of those admitted might be? Or if anyone is currently in the program... what kind of stats did you have? Any advice for prospective students interested in this major? Thanks in advance to anyone who responds

The bioengineering program is the most impacted right now. If you want to get into the major, you have to get in your freshman year. They don't let people transfer into the major. Generally, the average scores of bioengineering students are SATs over 1300 and weighted gpa over 4.2. BUT, they accepted ALOt of students last year (%50 more than the previous year) so you can expect their acceptance rate drop to around 30%. Good luck and remember, you can always get into the biotech field with a degree in Chem Engineering or even Biology.
