I'm a sophomore in high school right now and saw that when people on these boards post their stats, they always include a laundry list of awards. I haven't gotten any real awards yet, and was wondering do they just come to you for doing well in something or do people actively pursue awards?

most of them just come to you for doing well.
people actively pursue awards in competitions, science fairs, etc.
those carry more weight.
