uh, SAT I is most important because most schools don't require SAT II's. SAT I is a standardized tests that all applicants take and SAT II's are supplemental tests to help evaluate you in areas that the SAT I neglects.

I heard that the SATIIs are really important at top notch schools (they are NOT used for placement!!) but i dont know if this is true. I also heard that SATIs are used to "level the playing field" because a 3.5 at a really good high school could be like a 5.9 at a sucky one. i dunno if it's true. Oh yeah, i know a guy who did really really well on his SATIIs but not well on SATIs (not even NMS for PSAT) but he was accepted to Caltech and some other schools.
