Did you go to gov. school west or east? I'm going next year and I hear west is better...

i was at west. about 130 kids went over to east to hear a lecture at duke, but i wasn't a part of that group. people who did go said that the east campus had more restrictions, less lenient TACs, etc. i'm not sure how they picked up all that information in one night, though.
in what area were you accepted?

what were your essays about? were they unusual? if you expressed a strong interest in writing and had dull (well, unexceptional) essays, they might feel more inclined to reject you.

SHYP&Co. - for most schools, i had one very serious essay and another essay that displayed my creative side. i guess i'll find out in april how much the admissions officers liked them.
