Okay, state schools... definitely in.
UC's... SB in, SC in, davis and SD 60% chance.
Eventhough I don't know your GPA, I think your stats are really good for where you applied! Plus, I know at least 2 ppl at Davis and 1 person at SD with scores lower than you. You'll be fine! good luck!

Hey, Sunnycagrl15...i checked out your thread about the avg students chances at UC's....it was helpful. My top choice is also Santa Barbara. I completely fell in love with the school when i visited it over spring break last year. Oh and just to update people...i have been accecpted to CSU Chico...no surprise there, but atleast im in somewhere now!!! I just hate waiting on the UC's.

hey, seems like everyone wants to go to Santa Barbara, such an awesome school and location. I just got accepted to Arizona, thats how I felt about it, atleast i'm in somewhere! I think you're in at all the UC's personally. Where in San Francisco are you from? I absolutely love (parts of) San Francisco, unfortunately, i live on the other side of the bay and it takes me 30 mins by Bart to get there. My cousins live there though.

I live in Noe Valley...if you know where that is. Congrats about being accecpted to Arizona...that is truly great. I hope you like it there.

I didn't apply to Arizona under ED, or anything like that. I'd much rather go to Santa Barbara or a few other UC's, hopefully i'll get in somewhere else and have those schools as options to me. My parents have some friends that live in Noe Valley. I don't personally go there often, i've only been there a few times, it's past Market st and in a valley (hence the name) right? How'd you like growing up in San Francisco? Some day i'd love to live there.

Savedbythebell7 leaves college confidential for the night singing the Journey song....
"When the lights go down in the city, and the sun shines on the bay, I want to be there in my city,
Ooh, ooh."

I love San Francisco!!! There is so much diversity and so many great people. But like any place once you've been there for so long you just cant wait to get out, which is why the closest school i applied to is Sonoma State. Haha! The only thing is the weather is kinda too foggy all the time...but thats not a bad thing...just personally i prefer warmer weather like 70 or 75 degrees.
| By Savedbythebell7 (Savedbythebell7) on Monday, December 15, 2003 - 09:14 pm: Edit |
I also prefer warmer weather. Its foggy alot here too, probably not as much as San Francisco and we have warmer weather during the summer. I don't think SF is ever above 80 degrees. Just out of curiosity have you ever taken BART into Walnut Creek before? because i mean i always take BART into San Francisco, but i was just wondering if its the reverse for you.

Also a major downside to San Francisco is all the homeless people. One minute you can be in a relatively nice neighborhood, then all of a sudden you're surrounded by crack fiends.
| By Sfbbgurl (Sfbbgurl) on Tuesday, December 16, 2003 - 11:32 pm: Edit |
I dont go into Walnut Creek, usually Berkeley though. I love Telegraph Ave! Yeah the homelessness is a problem but i've learned to deal with it. It's not like they actually bother you, all they want is money. Just ignore them and everything is fine. Either way i still love the city!

Choachoad. It is clear that your heart is in California. I did some graduate work at UCLA before I went on the University of London for my Ph.D. Given your high SAT scores, you are likely to have a very good chance at the UC's because the UC's give more absolute weight to numbers. This is not true at private schools. You need to do something to make yourself stand out from the thousands of other highly qualified applicants, if you intend to get into a top private school like Stanford or Northwestern. Use your essays to distinguish yourself. Have you done something unusual? Use this to your advantage.
