Just wanted to know how it's looking for UNC Chapel Hill out-of-state. They only accept 19% so I'm not confident. I lived in NC for almost 3 years but just moved and lost my residency. Crap.
Basically breaks down into 1370 SAT (hopefully 1400+ as of today), 4.38/3.88 GPA, 13/143 class rank because of a bad move. They say it's not as important for OOS.
Track. Started a newspaper at my new school and did a ton with a large paper that won the state award at UNC competition thing. Got some national writing awards for NC and for just writing stuff; state awards at a UNC newspaper institute. School senator, leadership, yearbook, lit mag, key club, nhs, quill and scroll, comm service, all that other normal stuff. Leaderships definitely could be stronger but I've been a new student 2 of 4 years and it's freaking hard for me. Could talk about having been to 10 schools in my essay.
Will my past ties to NC and the awards from an institute UNC hosted make ANY difference in admissions? Or will they see that I suck and give me the boot..... Thanks for your help guys.
