calidude, i found out that SMPA has an acceptance rate of 15%!

Bobby, GW enrolls 100 freshmen in each of the SMPA programs. Therefore, with their yield around 33%, they can accept about 300 to each program. Obviously, this is a very small number compared to the overall applicant pool. The good news, though, is that even if you aren't accepted to SMPA, you can be deferred to CCAS (with the regular acceptance rate) and re-apply to SMPA in your sophomore year.
Please post results & stats when decision letters come in!

Well my interviewer told me that the number of applications going to the school of international affairs and smpa have been exploding lately, and that they've been getting more and more competitive, but yeah thats a good point about the CCAS though.

When are decisions being mailed out? I sent out my application around the 20th, and as of the 4th of December GWU has yet to accept it. I really hope they get it and I can get accepted Early Decision I. I applied to the Elliott School.

One of my best friends is a freshman, and another friend of mine is on a Swimming Scholarship.
Best friend went to a private catholic/irish high school that cost $30.000/yr. He graduated with a 3.75 and had a 1380 SAT.
The other kid was an all-star swimmer, but I don't know anything about his credentials. He was voted best looking for superlatives in my class, and I don't know why exactly, but good looks and intelligence never seemed to go hand-in-hand with one another, so when I found out he got into GWU I was downright shocked.
I don't know if this will help...at least I gave you something to compare your records with.
Good luck.

it will definitely help that he was voted best looking- haha.
I applied ED 1 to ccas. All of the books and GW's website say notification is the 15th...if they mail letters then, shouldn't we receive them on the 16th or 17th? I really wish we could find out on-line. Good luck everyone!
