Thinking of applying RD to Dartmouth, Columbia and Penn. I am wondering if my stats are good enough to give it a try. No sense wasting application fee if it is way below the norm.
SAT: 740V 670M, first try, not likily to take again;
Physics 780
Math IIC 730
Writing 610 (eww) All first try; retaking Writing and IIC december;
85% Average. According to grade conversion in Alberta, that translates into an A, or 4.0GPA;
7 in Math, 6 in Physics for IB; 37 Predicted Grade;
Written LOTS of high-level math contests;
Written U of Toronto and U of Waterloo Entrance Scholarship Competition at grade 11;
Provincial recgonization for speech;
Advisor/vice president for 2 clubs;
A bit of other volunteer, all at president/advisor level; Bit more assorted EC envolvement.

Dude, apply, I beg of you. The application fee sucks but it's really not that much for a chance to go to schools like that. And say you get into all the places you applied to without applying there... you'll always wonder what if. You have as good a shot as anyone.
