By Mcnease (Mcnease) on Wednesday, November 26, 2003 - 04:46 pm: Edit

Hey everyone. i stumbled upon this board last night, and was really impressed. Right now I am waiting for my Purdue acceptance/denial. With these stats, what would you say will happen to me?

ACT- 29
GPA- 3.5 (on 4.0 scale)
Honors Classes:
Frosh: 3
Soph: 3
Jr: 2
Sr: 2
Classes:
4 years of German, 5 years of math, 4 years of honors track science (AP Chem this year), 4 years of English (2 of which were honors), 2.5 years of Social Studies (1 year of honors).

Since Purdue doesn't care about extracirricular's, I won't list them. Oh yeah, I am an Illinois, male, caucasion (if this matters) resident.

Thanks!

I would think so, I got in with a 1220 and 28. But I did have a 4.0

I would bet the classes I took will even out my GPA. The only pushover class I ever took was US History, because it was required. I basically took almost all honors. Thanks for you input. Anyone else?

dude, ur in, don't worry about it, Purdue takes 78% of applicants. I got in with 3.4UW and 1500 SAT

EDIT* my friend got in wiht about my gpa and a 1350

By Mcnease (Mcnease) on Thursday, November 27, 2003 - 12:04 pm: Edit

Purdue engineering doesn't take in 75% of it's applicants. The rest of the school does, because the rest of the school isn't that great.

I got accepted into Purdue's School of Engineering out-of-state with a 28 ACT, 1270 SAT (660 math, 610 verbal), and a 3.8 GPA at top 2% of class.

Hey everyone. I just got accepted to Purdue engineering today. I think I'll accept their acceptance. Thanks for the input.

Isn't there pharmacy school pretty prestigious? I got into that, but I had a 28 ACT/1270 SAT, 4.69 GPA

By Mcnease (Mcnease) on Monday, December 01, 2003 - 06:00 pm: Edit

Yes, their pharmacy is prestigious. That, management, tech, and engineering is really their only strong points. Everything is else is just "eh."

McNease - Congratulations on your acceptance to Purdue. I think you'll like it there if you go.

I got in with a 3.1 and a 1370. My question to all you purdue people: How is west lafayette? Because that is the main thing that is scaring me about going there.

By Mcnease (Mcnease) on Monday, December 01, 2003 - 07:51 pm: Edit

When I visited, the town was surrounded by corn, and it looked like everything to do was on campus or across the street from campus. I don't think that is a bad thing

how far is it from chicago and indianapolis?

By Mcnease (Mcnease) on Monday, December 01, 2003 - 08:10 pm: Edit

About 2 hours from Chicago with NO traffic. With traffic it can be like 4 hours. Traffic SUCKS. Well, the route there follows the biggest trucking route in the world....

By Freak4korn72 (Freak4korn72) on Monday, December 01, 2003 - 08:34 pm: Edit

Yeah its about 2 hours to Chicago and about an hour to an hour and a half from Indianapolis. Not a bad location. I am going to accept their acceptance if I get rejected from Cornell, unfortunately I need to request a hall even if I make Cornell, so I can get the one I want.

Hmph. Well, if I do end up going to Purdue i'll see you there. :)

Just received my acceptance to Purdue engineering. I have also applied to USNA and Georgia Tech so I'm still waiting to hear how those go, but I'll be headed for West Lafayette to check out Purdue. Whenever I mention to adults that's one of the schools I applied to, they all seem very impressed. Must be for a reason.
