Well maybe not exactly slightly above average, but I believe I'm probably average for NROTC applicants.
My scores are:
660M/630V
ACT 28's all across
GPA is 3.1 at a college prep school and I take all the AP classes offered along with 5 years of language and I'm taking Calculus and two sciences this year.
I had my officer interview 7 weeks ago and am just waiting to hear back on a final decision. I think I did OK on the interview and the short answer questions. I cought a few spelling errors after submittng the application though(I know, I was in a big hurry to get it in before a trip).
I've gotten accepted to at least one of my choice schools, but as it's out of state I won't accept this offer until I feel confident I will get the scholarship. If I don't get the scholarship I'm going to UIUC, NIU, or SIU, accepted to all already. My ideal schooles are UC Boulder(accepted into engineering) and UW Madison(still waiting).
I know it's probably up in the air, but what do you think my chances of getting the scholarship are?

Congrats Egreenberg!
When did you first apply for the NROTC scholarship. I applied sometime in June and have been waiting (im)patiently since ;-)

i also applied for NROTC. the guy had put me under "Immediate Scholarship Decision" in which I would only have to pass one more interview and they would most likely offer the scholarship to me on the spot (I think the female thing is an advantage). However, I told him I wasn't sure if I would be able to accept it on the spot, so he sorta deferred me to the regular pile...I won't hear until March now. I'm looking into NROTC at Cornell or Tufts.
