...but my grades are definately not perfect. Will this be an issue?
my stats:
SAT: 1440 (740 V, 700 M)
no sat IIs
i'm involved in every damn music-related activity at my school, plus newspaper (an editor), video news, helped start an independent newspaper, helped start a student-run movie program (and wrote first script), started a couple clubs, in lots of others.
i have a little community service, but not a whole lot. also i ran varsity cross country during 11th and 12th.
i have about a 3.7, but i'm not in the top 10% of my class, and barely in the top 20. (i'm at a high school filled with professors' kids from a nearby university). if schools recalculate my gpa (and ignore band, etc) it wil probably drop to about a 3.3, which includes a couple Cs and a D (ouch).
the schools i'm applying to are carleton, macalester, wash u (stl).

you will probably have a good chance at Carleton and Macalester. Washington U. will most likely be a bit of a reach.
