I'd care to know wat u guys think on my chances
for yale unnder a political science major:
SAT I's:
700v, 800m
SAT II's:
790 Spanish, 760 Bio M, 800 Math II-c
620 Writing, 730 History
12 APS total;
passed 6/7 taken
5 on US History
5.693 weighted gpa; 3.96 unweighted on 4.0 scale
Ranked 4/808
Cuban-American

VP of Mu Alpha Theta in school;
Coach Algebra II students (8)and Pre-Calculus students (10) for competitions
Internship with Majority whip (incoming leader)
of the state house (Good rec.)
President of science club, and member of NHS

99 on AMC-12

The SAT II writing score is LOW for an IVY. Try to get that up if you have time to take the test again. You interned with Tom DeLay??!!! That guy is a dickhead. Everything else is great and you'll get in because you're Cuban.

Oops,Let me add a detail I forgot to clarify cause that reference was vague. I didn't intern with Tom Delay, I interned with the leader of the state house, I'm from Fl.

Advice: don't send them your SAT II writing score....

I didn't and sent in Maths IIc/Physics/Chem and got into Yale ED... it can only hurt

Austin - I was under the impression that the elite universities want Writing as 1 of the SAT IIs. Not Yale, then?

Nope... I was relieved to see of the 6 i was applying to HYPSMC, only MIT and Caltech required Writing as one of the SAT IIs...

Harvard, Yale, Princeton and Stanford and doubtless others I haven't checked up on, don't require Writing though they do probably prefer it.
