I put this post in the wrong forum earlier (the college search and selection forum) so I am reposting it in the right forum.

You all have probably seen a million questions like this so please bear with another one. If my transcript, EC's, AP's, volunteer work etc. (basically my whole resume) is around the "40th" percentile for second tier schools like Emory and Wash U St. Louis (I consider Tier I to be Ivies, Duke, MIT and Rice), basically meaning that my application is a little below "the average" quality of application sent to these second tier schools, but my SAT score is 740-740= 1480 and ACT is 33/34, would that give me a strong chance of admission or not really make a difference? I hope I am making sense here.
