Screw the number of 1600 rejectees-- I mean, even if 40% of all 1600s applying to Stanford get in, THATS A DAMN HUGE NUMBER!
YOU HAVE A GOOD CHANCE

I would guess that the 1600 applicants that are rejected, are rejected for either poor recommendations or very weak extracurricular activities. If you're not accepted, I can't imagine who would be!

I just read in "Perfect 1600 Score" that the Stanford Acceptance rate for perfect score students (1600) was 66% and their rejection rate of 1600 scorers is 28%. And just for your info the 1600 students that accepted their offer and now attend is 12%.

Those figures surprise me. I heard from someone else on the board that stanford rejects 65% of 1600 applicants.. they said strait from an adcoms mouth. Maybe they got their figures mixed up?

That was me and you are sort of accurate. She said "more than half" were rejected. Someone else on this board said he/she said 62%.However, I wonder how many 1600s apply somewhere else early, get accepted, and then don't send in mid-year reports to Stanford-making them not accepted applicants, or witdrawn, which they still might count as applicants because they still payed the Seventy-five dollars. That could change the stats a little bit. Just a thought.

Does anybody know where they got the states for 66% acceptance rate?
