OK, here's my dilemma. I'm torn between two schools: Haverford and Swarthmore. My twin sister is applying to Haverford ED. She has a 1350, about a 4.2 GPA, and is ranked (at least) in the top 20% of our class (there is also another student from my school applying ED with lower stats). Below I'm going to outline my positives and negatives at each college....

Haverford
+ SATs are above 75% range
+ Older sister is already a student at Bryn Mawr (this does help- Haverford and Bryn Mawr are practically the same college).
+ I love the social life, campus, and general learning environment
- Haverford is small, thus they don't accept a lot of people from the same school
- My sister is applying ED with lower stats. Say Haverford chooses only to accept one person from each school. She wouldn't get in, i would. I'd feel horrible

Swarthmore
+/- OK Interview (at least I had one)
+ Admission Officer who will be reviewing my application now knows me by name (I've seen him like 3 times in the past week)
+ SAT's fall in the range
+ I don't belive any other student from my school is applying ED
- Do they grade too difficultly? Is pre-med actually competetive there?
-It's Swarthmore Admissions. It's really hard to get in even with good SATs.
-my Why Swarthmore? essay isn't amazing.

ED for Swarthmore (Part 1 basically) is due tomorrow (i can hand deliver, i live like 20 minutes away). Where would you choose to go if you were in my situation? Do you think I'd even get into Swarthmore ED?

Thanks!

Here's my stats:
SAT I: 1490 (710 V, 780 M)

SAT II:
Chemistry 720
Writing 730
Math IC 800
Math IIC 800

GPA:
4.883 W , 4.0 UW (All As)

RANK:
My school stopped ranking students and got rid of the valedictorian position for reasons of "unhealthy competition". I'm definitely in the Top 10%, i may even be #1.

AP SCORES:
Chemistry 4
US History 4
European History 4
Calculus AB 5

Extracurriculars:
Helping our World Community Service Club (9,10,11 treasurer, 12 vice-president)
Students for Smiles (9, 10, 11, 12 treasurer)
Spanish Club (11, 12 vice-president)

Chem Club (11, 12)
Environmental Education Club (9, 10, 11, 12)
Culinary Club (11, 12)
Key Club (10, 11, 12)
National Honors Society (11, 12)
Piano- 11 years (have copyrighted original compositions)
Junior Varisity Tennis (9 varsity manager,10)
Web Design (won a few awards, design small business websites)

WORK EXPERIENCE:
Filing Assistant at Local Company 10 hrs/week (10)
Regal Entertainment Group Employee 15 hr/week(11, 12)

AWARDS:
Web Design Awards
National Merit Commended Scholar (cut-off was 215, i got 214, so pissed)
AP Scholar with honors

Senior Schedule:
AP Calculus BC
AP Physics I
AP Biology II
AP English Literature
AP Spanish V
AP Government and Politics

I'm not exactly big on extracurriculars, but my transcript is just about as difficult as it can be, and i have straight A's in all my classes for the last 3 years. My school is generally very good at college acceptance (last year we had 4 admitted to Harvard, 6 to Cornell, 7 to Penn, among others).

Thanks for the replies.

They are really similar schools. Hmmmmmm.... ya just never know who'll get in... Seems like you have taken a liking to Haverford, though.
