I'm in the top 15 percent of my class with a 3.5 unweighted 4.4 weighted GPA. I'm in a special extremely comptetive magnet program at a large well known high school

GPA:
Freshman: 3.22
Sophomore: 3.5
Junior: 3.87
Senior: 4.0 (most likely)

SAT1s: 670 Verbal, 800 Math
SAT2s: 690 Math2c, 680 Writing, US history soon.

All APs, advanced, honors, or magnet.

Activities:
Senior Class President
Student Advocacy Coordinator for County-wide SGA
Captain of the Mock Trial Team
Head Attorney of Montgomery County Teen Court (a real juvenile court)
Cello- 9 years
Director of a student run a cappella group
International Thespian Club- Actress/Secretary
Lead roles in school/community theatre

I've earned 700+ hours of community service through public entertainment (performing cello or in plays for nursing homes)

Seriously I'm lacking in awards (besides National Honor Society)

I plan to do political science and theatre. What are my chances at...

Brown
NYU-Tisch
Swarthmore
Wesleyan
Haverford
UVA
Vassar
UMD
Brandeis
Oberlin

Thank you so much!

You should get into Oberlin, Brandeis, UMD. Haverford, Vassar and Wesleyan aren't far out of your reach either. Swarthmore is a reach because you are not in the top 10% of your class... Brown is a reach too, but it's a reach for just about anyone. You have scores to get into NYU-Tisch, but so much of your chance for admission depends on audition. Best of luck!

Any idea about UVA? It's a good school, but I don't know if it's worth applying too if i have 9 other schools and I might not get in.

You have a pretty good chance at UVA too. They may want a higher GPA, but you have good scores and some nice ECs. If you're a VA resident, you're in... if not, you stand a good chance.

referring to my previous post:
I was looking at your 3.22 GPA, not 4.0... my bad

it'll still be a 3.5/3.6 overall. hopefully they look at weighted more (4.4).

my essay is about falling on my rear then landing the lead in the school musical. it's kind of a cliched "overcoming adversity" but it's sort of lighthearted...will anyone review? preferably alumns/people past college aps (i'm a little paranoid)

bump. help!

i met with my counselor (most pessimistic woman in the world) and she said i "really didn't have any safety schools". AUGH.

Well, you definitely do not have any safety schools. Just pick a college that is a sure-thing, like a state university or somewhere with higher acceptance rates (try something above 60%, with lower scores than yours). You need a backup.
