Does anyone know about it? What it takes to get in? Student life? From my research I love it, but I don't know much about its reputation. I like that its small and in Boston, but I am starting to wonder if I should go back to my original plan and apply to either NYU or USC ED...Help!

emerson is tight, but so are nyu and usc. kinda depends on your stats, but if you love it, go for it!

I'm top 15% in a class of about 500. high 1300 sats. I want to major in film (specifically writing for film), but maybe duel major or minor as well in marketing or journalsim, not sure how that works. lots of good ECs. I think I have a pretty realistic shot at all those schools, but money is an issue. but i like emerson's size, as I said before, and its reputation for producing people who are successful in the entertainment industry, etc etc, bla bla bla... I am just wondering if it's as good as I think it is...

if cost is a matter, then i would say usc is NOT a good bet. nyu is also expensive, but not as expensive as usc. also, it kinda depends on where you would want to live. if you want to live in LA, go to usc, if u want to live in new york, go to nyu, etc... as far as journalism goes, i think emerson is the best. for marketing, i would go with usc. good luck!

if you are thinking about usc, i REALLY recommend paying it a visit before choosing.

USC gives out a huge amount of aid. Try and get your SAT I over 1400, and you'll probably get a significant amount of merit assistance.
USC is a lovely, small, easy to get around campus. The surrounding areas are no where's as bad a people make out. See my threads on USC in the Parents section.

If you have higher than a 1300 SAT, you have a good chance of being in the Emerson honors program. It's a half scholarship, and you get some other advantages. I visited and loved it. It's my top choice.
