YOu won't get into U Mich, Cornell, UVA, or Tufts. You could probably get into BU and of course your state school. I don't know enough about the others to say for sure, but don't get your heart set on Cornell.

Can you take the SAT I again? If you raise it by 100 points, that would be awesome for you... there's one Nov 1 and Dec 6th if you want to party on halloween...

By Thinisin (Thinisin) on Sunday, October 12, 2003 - 05:45 pm: Edit

i don't think i can do better. i took the acts in sept and got a 27. ugh. i had taken the sats once before and got a 1290.

i'm a horrible test taker

You're slightly below the average at Rochester, RPI and Colgate for SAT's and GPA. If I were you I would choose your favorite of the reach schools and add another safety. Your EC's are decent which will help you...

WOW those are my stats too!
Where else are u applying?

I'm trying at Hampshire, Trinity, Hanover and Allegheny for Physics and Art. What are you going to study?

Don't waste your ED on cornell, you have no chance of getting in.

By Bear363 (Bear363) on Monday, October 13, 2003 - 04:56 am: Edit

How the hell do you know? Are you an admissions specialist at Cornell? My brother got into Cornell last year with a 3.6 and a 1280 on the SATs. Just because you are not the 'average' doesn't mean that you cannot get in. People like you who look at numbers and spit out a yes or no answer, really bug the hell out of me!

ahah. i've already sent my prelim app to cornell...and a few other schools

which safety should i add? george washington?

i know i am below average at most, but luck is a part of the process, hope its on my side.

OMG never think that you are below average!! You have fantastic attributes such as your long commitment to tennis and club involvement...despite what some people thing, TEST SCORES aren't everything! Don't give up, apply to those schools, and even if you don't get in, BU the others are FANTASTIC as well.

Best of Luck!

p.s. George washington is a great school!
