Hi! I am intersted in the University of Chicago, University of Notre Dame, Carnegie Mellon University and Northwestern University. I realize that these are all reaches for me, since I am not that competitive compared to their admission statistics, but I was wondering what my chances are. I am really interested in these schools. I live in Seattle, WA (if that makes any difference), and I am caucasian. I am interested in political science or business. Here are my stats:
GPA: 3.6
Weighted GPA: Around 4.3 (Not sure yet)
Class Rank: Top 8-15% of class (Not sure yet)
SAT I: 620 V 560 M 1180 Composite (Re-taking in a week, should get over 1200 since I have been practicing. Hopefully even higher!)
SAT II: Will take them in December
Schedule:
1 Unit equals two semesters
English: 4 units
Math: 4 units
History: 7 units
Lab Science: 4 units
Non-lab science: 1 unit
Foreign Language: 3 units
I took eight college level classes last year at a community college. I have taken 3 honors classes my sophomore year and I am taking three college level course this year at our community college.
ECs:
Founded debate team at my high school. I am the president.
150 hours of community service. Traveled down to Mexico with my church and helped in sanitation awareness. I also have volunteered 25 hours helping a gay rights organization in Seattle raise funds (not sure if Notre Dame will like this). Also, I have tutored 9th and 10th graders in math and English.
Successfully Published poem in poetry anthology.
Winner of CCS essay contest (2000)
Multiple writing honorable mentions, etc.
ROTC Service

You probably won't get into any of those schools. Your GPA and test scores are just too low. You can still get into a good school though. What state are you in?
