hi guys,
As much as i regret it.........i had to change school after completing my 10 th grade and then again after completing my 11th grade...........and as a result hardly any teacher knows me well enough to write a rec.for me!.....and even if i do manage to get a rec from someone......it would look ridiculous!!!
Pls...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

the same thing happened to me. i was fortunate enough to be able to connect with my ap english teacher. what you can do:
1) submit a supplemental rec from a 10th grade teacher
2) tell your counselor to stress this fact in her recommendation
3)go to the teacher you feel is the most understanding out of all of them and explain your situation. at least you'll get a pleasant recommendation
4)submit recs from outside of school (a coach, conductor, whatever)
5) pay special attention the the essay

Ask to talk to a teacher you have who would be consciencious about writing recs. Ask if he would write your recs. Tell him that you'll give him a rough "resume" listing your activities and telling him things about you since you know he does not know you well. Include your essays in the packet. Thank the teacher profusely.
I always suggest that kids approach their teacher with a list of things they want the teacher to know. Even if the teacher has known you from the school for a couple of years, there are probably lot of things that he does not know about you that would be beneficial. Most teachers like having a resume to help them write the rec. If you really want to help, look at the form that they are supposed to fill out, and do your rough resume in a draft form that generally follows their rec sheet. It makes it easier for the teacher. Believe me, most teachers want to write the best rec they can, but often don't have info on their fingertips about even longtime students and they also can get writer's block. Also many have so many recs to write, that they appreciate any help you give them. Just think how much easier it is to write a ref with a rough draft to refer to.
