If you are an underrepresented minority, I think you have excellent chances. Question is: Have you made use of all resources available to you? Have you challanged yourself?

i dont know what you mean by underrepresented, but i am indian and at most of these colleges i think the indian population is kinda high, so that might hurt my chances a little. as far as making use of all available resources, we don't have a whole lot of EC's at such a small school, and i've done as many as i can, time permitting. and i've taken every AP class i could possibly take depending on schedule and level of experience in that particular subject. Anywhere i knew i had enough experience for and my schedule would allow it, i took an ap course. so basically, i think i have made the best use of all my available resources.

Indians are not underrepresented

I think you need to add some more matches and at least one safety to your list. Right now, the only matches I see are Tulane and possibly Michigan--and I don't see a single safety. Drop one or two of the top schools and find some more matches/safeties. Good luck.

i really can't say i have a target because i'm really thinking here in terms of where i'd get the best financial aid package. i'd be happy at any one of these schools. as far as my list, i really can't cut it down that much because of the fact that i'm looking for the best aid package. if i absolutely had to though, i'd probably cut harvard and princeton and maybe stanford, and add emory as a safety/match. but regardless of whether i cut my list or add safeties or not, what do you all think my chances are for getting in to the schools that i listed? maybe with some opinion it might help me cut my list a little further

rice might be a reach because of your sat scores and unless u have some extraordinary EC's and honors...everything else is a reach except tulane

You probably won't get into any of those schools unless your GPA is 4.0 or so. You need to apply to some safety and match schools to ensure you will be able to attend a 4-year school next year. What's your GPA?

ok the whole gpa thing is a little weird for a few reasons: first of all, my school does this stupid 9-point scale thing instead of a 4-point scale. it has to do with giving 9 quality points for an A+ and then 8 for an A and so on and so forth. I'm not quite sure what my gpa on this scale is, but my college counselor said that from a 9-point scale to a 4-point scale, my gpa converts to a 4.1, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me because i have gotten two B+'s for semester grades in 3+ years of high school. right now through about 7 weeks of senior year my grades are all some kind of A (at least an A- in every class)
