Ivy-leagues won't have much to look at.
But for undergraduate education, I completely agree with you there.
No point putting yourself 100's of thousands of dollars in debt for undergrad... any decent state university will accept you with a GED as long as you haven't majorly messed up. And most high school is a huge waste of time.
