i mean mit, you might get into upenn but i doubt mit, you're not special. Although your chances are decent enough for EA/ED at all the schools.

I think you're in the ballpark but not really shining academically. If anything is going to bump you into the Ivies, it will be your soccer. I know nothing about soccer, really, but my feeling is that if you are athletically recruitable for college level soccer, that could be your ticket in. I'd really play that up. Your minority status will help too.

Rubenizm, did you not report that MIT is pushing athletics now? I saw something on these boards but cannot pinpoint.
Texansoccer, as I have always said, the sports hook is one of the most powerful when you can be a participating athlete on a college team. Make sure you contact the athletic directors and soccer coaches of your prospective schools. It can make the difference for you.

Texansoccer, my son did the athletic rounds. I found that a lot of the coaches were more upfront about cutoff scores or if you have a chance with the school than the admissions offices. For example, when we went to WM & Mary, we were repeatedly told there were no SAT cutoffs, that the whole picture was examined. The coach cut to the quick. He told my son and a few other athletic hopefuls whether or not he wanted them as athletic recruits, how many he was allowed to give a pass to the admissions office , a limited number for out of state. And he then encouraged anyone with a 1350 or higher on SATs to apply for consideration--that he would include a line to the admissions office that would be considered along with the rest of the application but was not of recruit status. He said out of staters needed a 1350 to even be considered.
When someone mentioned that no 1350 cutoff was mentioned for out of state by the admissions office, the coach just shrugged, raised his eyebrows and shook his head.
So the coaches and the athletic directors can not only recruit you but give you some valuable info on where you stand with your stats even if they will not put you on their "must have" list.
You many not make special admission rounds but with a coaches' mention, they will hold your athletic ECs in higher esteem while evaluating the rest of the application. It always helps when someone from the inside wants you.

That is very true.
Also, my soccer team has won many tournaments in different parts of the country. Should I include all of these in the "awards" part of my application???
