Discus: What Are My Chances?: September 2003 Archive: Help Guide Me!
By Nyyankees408 (Nyyankees408) on Thursday, September 25, 2003 - 07:17 pm: Edit

I am having real issues in where to apply and whether to go early decision or not. I would like to major in business and here are my

Emory E.D.,
Wake Forest,
University of Illinois-Urbana,
Boston University
Case Western Reserve University,
Tulane University,
Syracuse University,
University of Maryland at College Park,
Indiana University at Bloomington,
Pennsylvania State University
Brandeis University,
University of Michigan Ann-Arbor.

My stats are as follows:

650 Verbal, 630 Math (retaking Oct. 11th should raise math at least 20 points)

560 Bio SAT 2s on score choice (probably not releasing)...took with only a college prep Bio class

Math IC and Writing to be taken on Nov.1 (Not sure what to expect, hopefully in the 600's range for Math and in high 600s-700s for Writing)

Class Rank will hopefully be in 10% range.

Recommends are from two very bright Harvard educated teachers, and are hopefully pretty helpful.

Essay is in the works, but is about music and seems pretty good at this point.
Freshman: Algebra B-, Earth Science B+, English A-, French 2 B+, Guitar 2 B+, Health B+, World History A-

Sophomore: Art 1 A-, Biology A-, English HON B, French 3 A-, Geometry B+, Health B+, World History A-

Tulane University 56% Acceptance
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign--60%

bump before I get lost in the crowd :)

Also to update I am thinking of not applying to UMich since it is very, very difficult to get into out of state... and instead maybe applying to Umass-Amherst Sports Management Program as a safety. What do you think?

I'm not so sure about Emory ED, but most of the other ones look good.

Thanks Rubenizm,

It seems I might forget about applying to Emory E.D. because of the fact that it's binding. Also the business school is a seperate entity you must apply to junior year (i.e. if you don't get in and that's what you want to do you have to transfer...). My application probably isn't good enough anyways :)

Do you think I should apply to Emory regular or would I have a better chance at U Mich than Emory?
