Does being Half Persian/ Half White do anything in terms of affirmative action?

no, even if you are dirt poor and from a disadvantaged background. our society associates low intelligence and ignorance with blacks and hispanics. even though asians are a minority, because they do better on tests and make up a larger percentage of the college-bound population, they recieve nothing, even though they are a member of a disadvantaged (econimically) minority.
socioeconomic disadvantages: your parents are uneducated and poor and you grew up in a neighborhood BECAUSE you are black or hispanic.
they need to look past race and try to assess socioeconomic conditions accurately.. adcoms are obsessed with diversity though and when reading thousands of applications, they dont have time to check everyoens background, the race box is much easier

what? first of all test scores do not signal low intelligence. they signal low motivation for learning. and asians are NOT disadvantaged economically(average of course).
Half the german bwm cars i see are driven by asians. There are poor asians of course but there are much more rich ones. Why wouldn't there be? They're the most hardworking people and their culture helps them immensely.

Cmaher, I can't get over the depth of your resentment. Even though you couch your rhetoric with phrases such as, "OUR SOCIETY associates low intelligence and ignorance with blacks and hispanics", it's pretty obvious from your many previous posts that you make the same associations. You seem condescending when it comes to poor blacks and hispanics on the one hand, and resentful toward upwardly mobile blacks and hispanics on the other.
You also seem to think you have the inside track on the decision making process of Adcoms all across America. You don't. The Adcoms of the most prestigious schools pride themselves on the painstaking study and deliberation of virtually every application that enters their offices---at least that is what they all claim to do. Each applicant is evaluated on an individual basis, taking into consideration their relative strengths and weaknesses, and paying close attention to all that may be known of their background. If asian applicants were as commonly dismissed and "receiving of nothing" as you claim, one would be hard pressed to find any such students numbered among the populations of America's prestigious colleges. But just a cursory observation belies any such claim.
Now on the subject of test scores, there are a number of reasons why one might receive a low score. Certainly, low intelligence is one. However, so are lack of interest, poor preparation, inadequate test taking skills, cultural factors, illness, stress, etc. And none of these factors lie solely in the domain of blacks and hispanics. Obviously the myth that the SAT (and tests like it) has the ability to reliably quantify intelligence, is one that is slow in dying. Were it to be true, it certainly would facilitate the argument for eugenics, and even genocide---which is why I suppose so much racially motivated quasi-science uses test scores as it's rallying cry.

Cmaher...u r probably right in saying wat u say...but this is not a nazi opinion board where u can make rasicst comments....btw asains were once disadvangated when they came to america(started off at the same level as blacks and hispanics)..but they r hardworking and most of them r rich..even if a poor asain goes to america in a couple of years they will b living in a nice suburban house with BMW cars(i know a lot)...u cant really make any judgements about ppls intelligence by test scores...they only a stupid way of measuring ur intelligence..
