Do you think I could get in with these stats....

EC's-Basketball(3 years)
VolleyBall(1 Year)
BSU(Black Student Union)
NAACP youth member
Various volunteer opppurtunities

Ive taken variuos honors courses including US History AP, English 11 AP, Eurpean AP and this year my schedule is as follows....

English 12
AP Statistics
Biology I
Drama I
IB Governemtn/Economics
Basketball(Not relevant but still)

is that 3.1 GPA unweighted?

If so, you should consider applying to UCLA, UCSD, UCB, UCD.. etc..

Apply to some private schools. You are a decent student and you are black, which is what a lot of colleges want.

If you are any good at basketball (like div II quality), it will help a lot.

You will probably get into all of your listed schools. I agree with the above poster - you should consider applying to some of the UC's as well (although probably not to UCLA or UCB). You should also consider some private schools as well.

With SATs barely 1000 and a GPA 2.5+ what schools in the Northeast would you suggest - looking for speech pathology/audilogy as a major.

U can get into UC santa Cruz and UC Riverside which are really good schools top 100 in the nations. Aim higher than Cal states. If u have decent AP and SATI and II scores, it will help too. Good luck.

retake the sat1's. california(or is it just the UC's?) doesn't practice AA, so you need to imporove your scores.

if you took AP english and ap stat, then some studying(and maybe tutoring if you can afford it) should help you get above 1040. People underestimate how much studying helps.

Hey, I have a 1420, low sat 2s, but I have extensive ec's and I work as a research assistant to an oncologist and I have published a case report on plasma cell leukemia. I am in the top 5 percent of the class. Do you think I could get into any BA/MD programs and if so which ones?
