Do essays need titles? If not, is it advisable to have a title? This is probably pretty important to all students applying to ivys etc. Imagine, your regional rep at the committee meeting. If he/she can just say "applicant x's essay, "title," is a great indication of x's accomplishments"

i dont think its neccessary but if you have one in your mind, go for it. My english teacher last year told us it was obnoxious to title our work in certain situations because we werent published authors.. but, personally, i wouldnt follow that advice if you are leaning towards a title
