is georgia tech a good school for computer science.

how is it compared to cornell, carnegie, or northwestern

i looked at the application and it doesn't have spot for ap scores, or even teacher recommendations.

is this normal?

Georgia Tech, like many large state colleges, does not require recommendations and actually refuses to consider them. Key elements for admission are grades in college prep courses, course difficulty, SAT or ACT scores, and essay. Also considered are EC's. If there is no place to put AP scores then they are likely not considered important except later for placement after being admitted, but check with your high school to see if it puts AP scores on your official transcript. Don't try to sneak them into the "important event" essay that is required as it would look tacky.

As far being a good school for computer science, it is among the best and at least as good as any you list. It is also among the hardest.
