Hi Everyone!

Would you folks mind giving me your opinion on my admission chances? I'll list my "stats" first, then my desired schools.

SAT I
M-740 V-790 M+V-1530

SAT II
Math IIC - 790
Chemistry - 720
Physics - 740
Writing - 780

GPA - 3.9 (unweighted), Rank #2

AP Calc AB - 5
AP Physics - 4
AP Chem - 3
AP Gov't - 3
AP Bio - haven't taken exam yet
AP English - haven't taken exam yet
AP Calc BC - haven't taken exam yet

County Orchestra - 4 yrs - 1st violin 2 yrs, soloist 1 yr
Morning chamber music group - 1 yr
Math Team Co-Captain - 1 yr
Lit Mag editor (one of a several) - 1 yr
Korean club co-founder - 1 yr
Science club member - 1 yr

- Maryland distinguished scholarship recipient
- National merit semi-finalist
- Technical support volunteer at URTA, a non-profit organization which provides bus rides to low-income and disabled county residents - 1 yr

I think I have good test scores, GPA, and class rank; just average AP scores and EC's.

I'm interested in attending Cornell, Columbia, Johns Hopkins, UC Berkeley, and Princeton. I think I have a decent shot at the first three, but not Berkeley (because I'm not a CA resident) or Princeton (because of my average EC's).

What do you think my chances are?

I don't know, dude. Those scores are awesome, though...but you need a little more distinction on ECs and you're definitely going to have to work those essays.

yooo ..this sucks..im applying to cornell..the problem...my SAT scores are unevenly balanced...780 math 610 verbal (1390) 1390 is definently good enough for cornell but will the 170 point difference make a difference in my chances......TELL ME

Well, I suppose that depends on your essay. Laylow, you sound a little disgruntled.
